This spoke to my heart today. I hope it does to you too. Let’s allow each season in our life to fulfill its purpose – including the pain and all the life lessons that come along with it. Each season brings a reward if we don’t give up. 🙂 So, just hang in there.
“for behold, the winter is past; the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land.” (Songs of Solomon 2:11-12 ESV)
When we come to a place of transition before our next season, we must not forget that the current season still needs to be finished before we can move into the next one. Because how we finish one thing directly impacts the way we enter into a new thing!
Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens …
Here are some thoughts on how to finish your season well:
1. Don’t Devalue the Season You’re In
The reason you are not in the next season yet is because God obviously has more for you to learn in your current season.
2. Don’t Drop the Ball
Dreaming of the next season is no excuse for forgetting your current responsibilities. Only you can decide what kind of legacy you want to leave.
3. Don’t Burn Your Bridges
While people in your current season might not be coming into the next phase of your journey, they may very well play a part in your future.
Let’s determine that whatever season we are in, we’ll finish well and that we’ll do everything as if we are doing it unto the Lord!
