Come As You Are

“Jesus said to them, `Come away with me. Let us go alone to a quiet place and rest for a while.'” – Mark 6:31

With a big pile of laundry on the floor, toilet bowl on the side, and a cup of coffee on the other side of the floor with a bible laid out on a dirty toilet rug, I know, this may not be the most glamorous place to spend your morning and have a cup of coffee, but it’s my most favourite place in the house and my most sacred moment of the day.

Here, I can cry all I want, pray, kneel and bow and sing my heart out and most importantly, I can just be myself because no one is watching and no one else is listening.

Here, is where most of my battles are won – not when I’m outside the world but when I’m on my knees.

I used to neglect my quiet time with God because of trying to be busy with so many different things, but when I went through a difficult season in my life, there, I truly understood why Jesus told Martha, “Mary has chosen what is best and it will not be taken away from her.”

Indeed, it is BEST because no one else in this world could comfort you, give you peace, heal your hurts and pain, strengthen you and encourage you to go and move forward in life than God. He loves you and He wants to meet you and spend time with you like you’re the most important person in the world! 🙂

And He wouldn’t mind meeting you in the toilet! Just come as you are.
